jubilant christmas holidays
i have no desire nor time
to wait in a mile long line
in a massive pilgrimage of infestive flies
during black friday

caught up in the moment
when summer faded away months ago
my allowance of money
pennies, nickles, dimes, and quarters
vanished before my eye

hanging around my neck
heaviness grown from the wet snow
laying on top of the roof
ornaments from the pine tree
light me up to wonder
how she's doing today
