After realizing i have very little space to work and play in my current room, we decided to renovate the garage! I'll keep updating with progress as it comes the OP will have the most recent state in it.

looks great so far.

is it going to be a studio room as well as a shop?

it will be a room for playing on one side with a lounge and TV, the other end will be a workbench with parts, tools and building gear. the drills and paint will be in a shed just outside.

that sounds like a good plan.

i'd put a buttload of electrical outlets in it.

any plan for the floor or are you just leaving it concrete?

wooden floating floors.

planned to have 4 power sockets on each of the 2 side walls spread evenly so i can move things around with ease.

Stuffing those frames with anything? Or just leaving it empty? Great opportunity to semi-soundproof it.

should be set then as long as you won't get any water out there.

i like ippon's 110 idea on at least one outlet if it's not too much of a pain in the ars.

Just mount a transformer somewhere convenient. If you think you need four outlets put in six. You'll thank me later.

started work and the mess of the current Toyroom:

Every time I see the top half of your tele when I scroll down the page I think "That mother****er stole my guitar!"

Then I see that your's isn't cool enough to have a bigsby, and my fears are relieved.

Are you going to keep it Toyroom, or change it to Toygarage? Toyrage? Anyway, it looks like a nice project. Father/son bonding?
I am a fake mountain.

Paint two walls black and two something bright like red or yellow. It makes the room seem a lot bigger.

Oh and a mirror.

I say throw the Toyroom Logo on one wall, really huge.

Yuppers.
ALWAYS, and I mean ALWAYS install more power outlets than you think you will ever need.
And good ventilation is well...good.

I am jelly now. Looks nice.

Have 110 wiring, so you can buy amps and stuff from here. Yea?

Floating floor ... use tires underneath, will be perfect if you need to do Judo sometime in the future.

If there was an AC30 and/or an SG in the pic of the current Toyroom, I'd've audibly jizzed all over my laptop. Which is no good as I'm currently in the middle of class.

Now I just have to hide my raging boner. No problem provided I don't get called up to the board.
