yello yello,
ive been wondering how you can read serial numbers on guitars to tell when the guitar was made. im not sure if theres another thread on this but i searched and as usual the retarded search engine that ug uses is about as helpful as syphilis.
thanks all.

It depends on the maker of the guitar. Everyone has a different system. You can google how to read *insert brand here* serial numbers. There is a guide somewhere online for ibanez guitars that shows you all the ways they mark their guitars. I'm sure there are similar guides for other companies floating around as well. You can also try emailing the company your serial number and asking for information about that specific guitar
