The Amish arming themselves like this is srs business. Part of their religion is complete pacifism, and these guys are buying weapons for defense, which is practically unheard of. Shit's gonna go down 16th century Pennsylvania Dutch-style.

The Amish are weird. And it's not a civil war. They are protecting themselves should the criminals be found not guilty. Apparently getting your hair cut is worth protecting yourself with shotguns and mace.

Is it wrong that I kinda want to see an Amish fight?

Most Amish already own firearms. They hunt.

Civil war does not equal religious nuts starting a riot. It wouldn't even be that though. It'll just be like the hillbillies that sit on their porches with a shotgun and some moonshine

I don't get what the Amish's beef with me is.

Every time I try to snap a pic with one of them, they flip out.

Way to grossly overplay this in your thread title, TS. I'm sure the Amish community would really appreciate it (if they ever read it).

But guns specifically for defense. That's intense for the Amish.

By the Amish themselves.

It's really not that exciting. I rarely see them where I live, but I can be right in the middle of Amish country in like 15-20 mins if I want.

No individual or group of individuals can speak for all members who associate themselves with a given group, bro.

The Vatican sets religious precedent for Roman Catholics but many people who affiliate themselves with that particular sect of Christianity don't agree with their interpretations.

The Amish are much more strict about the doctrine, the Ordnung of the Amish faith than most other Christians, though. That's why the Mennonites broke off, they didn't like the strict adherence to the laws of the Church.
