Evening forum! So I'm working on this song and my theory is pretty... Bad.

Just wondering if these bends would be in key.

The key of the song is G♯:

e|-------------|-------------|-------------|-------------|-------------|-------------|
B|-----9-------|-----12-----|-----14----|------16--- |-------------|-------------|
G|----11------|-----14-----|-----16----|------18--- |-------------|-------------|
D|-------------|-------------|-------------|-------------|-------------|-------------|
A|-------------|-------------|-------------|-------------|-------------|-------------|
D|-------------|-------------|-------------|-------------|-------------|-------------|

Are they in the right key?

Any help and even through in a few more bends I could do that would be in key would be very much appreciated. Cheers guys!

They would not be diatonic to G# Major, no (Technically called Ab Major btw)

Double stops (unison bends) would be diatonic on frets 9, 11, 13, 14, 16, 18, 20, 21 of the B string.

The key of G# has 5 sharps: G#, A#, B, C#, D#, E, and F#.

The bends on the B string are all in key, however you've got an A-natural on the G string (14). Change that and you'll be golden.

The key of G# has the following notes: G# A# B## C# D# E# F##

That's why Ab would be much easier.

Ab Bb C Db Eb F G

However, TS you're bends would be in either B Major or G# Minor.

To understand why, learn the basics of theory and the Circle of Fifths.

I thought he was using G# minor?
