I need a guitar for low tunings like C standard and Drop Bb. The Affinity Squire Strat I borrowed from my cousin isn't really that good.

- The guitar should be good for metal

- Budget: $200 - $400

- I kinda like the single coil sound, so I am thinking of having a single coil pup in the neck and humbucker in the bridge. But I am not really sure. Would a humbucker in the neck be better for metal soloing than a single coil? Opinions please?

Thanks,

Ibanez RG321MH. Pick up one used, swap out the pickups to suit your sound.

If you want a SC in the neck, your best bet is probably trying to find a used Jackson DK2. It's very possible in your budget, but I don't know what the market is like where you are.

Schetcter? they have 7 string for not that expensive.

I agree. You can find a C7 Hellraiser for $400 used, and a Floyd-Rose model for $500. They're excellent guitars and the 707 EMGs aren't too bad. I know a lot of people swap them out though.
