Do you mean songs in the key of D or in D tuning? basically any southern rock song is in the key of D major. i believe it's called a mixolydian mode. Drowning face down by saving abel is also in d.

D major is D Major. D mixolydian is D mixolydian. You don't want to accidentally fuck up your sevenths now do ya?

Mountain Song by Joe Bonamassa - I think it might be in Drop D but you can easily play it in standard, and I think it does change key at points, but the majority is in D

Mixolydian is a separate mode from major (aka Ionian mode), so no.

Uh... You only have like.... 12 keys, in a way, so the number of songs in d major are quite numerous.

Something can't be in the key of D and D mixolydian simultaneously.

D major: D E F# G A B C#
D mixolydian: D E F# G A B C

FYI, if a song has a combination of these chords, you can safely assume it's in D:

D major/sus2/sus4
E minor/sus2/sus4
F# minor/sus4
G major/sus2/sus4
A major/sus2
B minor/sus2/sus4
C# diminished

I didn't add 7ths, 6ths and what have you because that would just make this even more messy and bleh.
