hello im going to buy a new Peavey Valve King 212 . Its in my budget and i want some op. from owners or knowers of this amp.

Great clean tone but the distortion leaves a little to be desired. If you are looking at playing metal it's probably a good idea to invest in a good distortion pedal as well.

im going to play rock/ punk and old school metal so i dont need that harsh modren distorsion

I own the VK100H version but im sure they sound pretty similar minus the speaker differences in my cab...It can most certainly do punk and older metal tones if set right. an OD pedal out front or an EQ wouldn't hurt either

should work fine for you. i have the VK112 and am really happy with it. i play "classic" metal like Diamond Head (Am I Evil) and tons of older Judas Priest and it works well for that. does classic rock and blues rock decently as well. the VK won't deliver the tone of the gods but it will give you a solid sound.
