Hi guys,

Question is there any kind of software or good website you can use for example you click that you are writing a song in say the key of D and then it loads up a list of known chords which fall in D you can have a play around with.

Thanks.

There's also learning music theory, you know, for when you want write without a computer handy and/or change keys.

I am but naturally it takes time and I'm not going to just wait around to create when i'm just looking for some extra chords to try out.

How do you tell what key works well with another key say changing keys during a song for chorus etc? what theory does that come under.

Pretty much the theory of how changing keys works - modulation.

Just googling "common modulations" brings up a bunch of good info.

Ok cheers mate i'll look into it, it's all stuff i'm trying to learn as I go along with writing. I've learnt it before but forget constantly.
