Do you have any albums/CDs from bands that made one CD then disbanded? I have 2 that i love, first is a group called "Moron Envy" - A Temporary Escape From Insanity and the second is "Huskavarna" - Music for Pornos. I have a lot of punk and indie bands but these 2 are CDs that i really like. Anyone else have any once and done groups?

Fall Out Boy's 'Folie a Deux' doesn't get nearly enough recognition for how fantastic it is.

EDIT: I only half-read the thread title and got it wrong. My point still stands, even if it's not technically relevant.
My signature lacks content. It is, however, blue.

Van Halen III. No-one talked about it because everyone hated it, then everyone forgot about it. I love the album.

Everyone knows Fall Out Boy and Van Halen.

Uh, off the top of my head, The Faith. They're a DC hardcore band that's partially responsible for one of my favorite albums OF ALL TIME, their split LP with Void. Other than that, they just have an EP, a demo, and a few odds 'n' ends. Oh, also Rites of Spring. **** yeah.

I glanced at the title, saw 'album', 'you love' and 'nobody heard of' and just assumed this thread was about under-appreciated albums.

I can't tell you about them because then somebody would know.

I've got this sweet CD called Rien, Merci by this French band called NED that I saw years ago at my first DIY punk show. They were doing a tour de America with Ghost Mice, and Frankly they were way more exciting than Ghost Mice.

I dunno what ever happened to 'em or if they have more records.

Oh yeah & forgetters' Too Small to Fail EP is really sweet, but I guess Caroline quit & Blake went nuts, so they're done. ¯\_(ツ_/¯

Johnny Thunders & The Heartbreakers L.A.M.F. is a classic, I don't think they're terribly obscure, though.

And there was this late '80s pop-punk band from the Bay Area called Sweet Baby whose record It's A Girl is way fun and vastly superior even to The Ergs!, then they broke up because the singer went to college, 'cuz that's what guys in pop-punk bands do.

Control Denied- The Fragile Art of Existence. Although, the surviving band members claim Chuck Schuldiner had the entire second album written and they're trying to record it next year

I also like to pretend Saosin broke up after Translating the Name <_<

Death From Above 1979- You're A Woman, I'm A Machine is a pretty awesome album. And their only one, IIRC.

A friend of mine put out an album 2 years ago with his band but they disbanded soon after. It's a damn shame, they sounded really tight and were generally considered to be one of the best bands in our moderate-sized town. I heard from him that the album only sold like 40 physical copies so It's pretty rare.

/hipster

EDIT: Also, an all-girl band called Cockpit from LA if I recall correctly released an LP in 2008 called Mission to Rock. Sweet, uncomplicated AC/DC-style hard rock

Silvertide's Show and Tell was phenominal. I never understood why they never made it beyond that album.

Remind me sometime and I'll send you the WBEZ forgetters performance I webripped. It has songs that aren't on Too Small, and are better.

I'm gonna give you three and they all have a common theme.

1. Calamine, or as they're known to anyone who reads opening credits really closely, the band who performed the Sealab 2021 theme. Their actual music sounds almost nothing like said theme song but yeah i pretty much never heard people talk about them.

2. Splendora, aka the band that did the theme song for Daria. They only released one album (back about 5 years before Daria) and it was actually pretty amazing but it seems nobody knew.

3. Polaris, or the band from The Adventures of Pete and Pete. Technically I'm cheating with this one since they were basically this other band except minus a member but still Bitches don't know bout my Polaris.

I'm guilty of that too.

Well in that case I change my answer to Jeff Buckley. If he counts as a band.

Put out a two song EP just a bit ago, and had an album or ep before Animals.

You know, the one with 26 is Dancier than 4

And if someone says my choices aren't obscure enough, I was gonna include a bunch of emo and screamo bands, but their artwork was not found in 500x500 size so they were not included
