I have an Ibanez RG series guitar that has active EMG pickups in it that goes directly into a POD. When I play something and then cut the volume (with my picking hand palm and fretting fingers, not turn the volume pot down), I get this humming noise that sounds like white noise that lasts for about 2 seconds and then fades out to silence.

I've figured out that I get a buzzing noise when my T.V. is on or I am sitting too close to my laptop (guitar picks up some shit?) so that's not the issue.

I was just wondering if this is normal to get a 1-2 second hum after you mute the strings, and what can be done about it?
Sounds like you have a noise gate on, but it's its not closing fast enough. If that's correct, try fiddling with the decay setting to tighten it up.
