Just got an SRO Vintage Badwater strat by AXL and the distressed white finish doesn't look quite like I had wanted.

I was considering either sanding off the white and repainting/refinishing, or doing something cool like burning parts of my guitar since it's only $100.

What I need to know is if this will affect the tone or playability at all. If it will, how can I avoid that and still make this thing look... better?

You can do a lot to strats that wont mess up the playability. As long as everything is superficial you can pretty much do anything. Don't harm any structural parts and go crazy!

its a load of crap

The only real answer to the SG vs Les Paul debate is to get a Flying V and laugh at all the suckers who don't have one.

if you embrace inaccurate intonation it can be quite arousing.
