So I have a piece in ternary [ABA] form.

I've written out the first A section and the B section, both are 16 bars long. I want to make the piece go back to the beginning, play until the end of the 14th bar and jump to another two bars at the very end.

Basically, I want to have the second A section with a different ending.

So A, B, A with a different ending.

Here's what I think is right:

A - 16 bars, To Coda sign at the end of the 14th bar.
B - D.C. al Coda sign at the end of the 16 bars.
Extra 2 bars - Coda symbol at the beginning of the 2 bar ending.

Am I doing this correctly? Power Tab Editor doesn't think so. It plays fine until the To Coda, then it just carries on to finish the A section and moves on the B section...

I'll do my best to try and interpret the chart without seeing it, and by your explanation.

1. For the first 16 bars, add "To Coda" at the end of the 14th bar.

2. Add the Coda sign at the end of the piece, followed by 2 bars, end with a double bar line (one thick, one thin).

3. At the end of the B section, write "D.C. al Coda", and a thin double bar line.

Ah, so I did get it right. Power Tab must have done something wrong.

Thank you!

At the end of the B section did you put in a thin double bar line? Cuz that signifies the end of a section. See edit.
