Just came in yesterday, It's a 1966 RI Epiphone Wilshire. It was $380 on Musicians Friend.

Has a pretty unique body to it with a really cool batwing headstock and direct access to the 22nd fret. It's worth mentioning that it doesn't have a baseball neck. I had a Strat before this and it's extremely close. The fretboard is a little flatter but thats just preference if you care about it.

Soundwise its like a Fender Telecaster and a Gibson SG had a child, with a body that reminds me of a '59 Danelectro. It doesn't have the twang of the Telecaster but it definitely sounds like a cross. The mini-humbuckers and light weight achieve this easily. If anyone is in to Indie or Alternative Rock bands, like Dinosaur Jr, Juliana Hatfield, The Strokes, etc. I'd consider checking this out. Don't let the price tag fool you; it's easily better than a Mexi Fender and build quality is better than I would have thought.

The action came a little low, which is pretty unusual, but I'll have it set-up this week. I played it through a cheap Marshall 10watt with some distortion and chorus and still provided good tones despite budget gear. I'd like to play it through a Vox amp or a Blues Jr, because it would definitely suit it. I haven't had to tune it once after five-six hours of jamming.

If your into gigs it's light weight would suit you. I'd get some strap locks because I'd never trust it without it but I'd go for this at a gig. It's light but doesn't feel like a toy.
I'd check this out; I like it better than the Epi Les Pauls in the sense of tone and weight. For $380, why not?

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Presumably because the CCF (Combined Corksniffing Forces) of MLP and Gibson forums would rise up against them, plunging the land into war.

Lets see.....Casino,Riveria,Wilshire and Emperor. That about covers the current production of originals from Epiphone. I do not play nor care about acoustic guitars so if they make them good for who ever. Rock on!

I have one of these in worn cherry, great guitar, very versatile. I used to use it as my first gigging guitar until i bought a Fender Classic Player Deluxe with Black Dove pick ups. This is still my back up guitar and ALWAYS gets played at every gig. It can produce acoustic sounds so well, when you want it though, it can be a real rock beast! The price is just ridiculous, get one, you won't regret it!

About 10 years ago, alot of people round here were real big on Wayne Kramer/MC5,and so the original wiltshires were pretty popular.I have seen a photo of the most well known one in the area, lying on a pub floor, with the headstock snapped off ):
Enjoy!

i don't mind buying online, but at that kind of price bracket i'd want to try first
