At first I was like, but Cliff Burton is DEAD. Then I was like, maybe they mean with Dave Mustaine, but no way in hell that'll happen...
BUT IT TOTALLY DID. And that Ron McGovney guy that was the bassist before Cliff was there too, so I guess it really was the original lineup. Zombie Cliff Burton would have been more exciting though, goes without saying.

P.S. I did a half-ass searchbar, disregard if this has been discussed.

But... haven't the big 4 (including mustaine) been playing with metallica like hundreds of times?

Nothing historical here.

That McGovney guy makes it totally historical. It'd be like the Beatles reuniting with Pete Best. You know, before John and George died.

Big Four was good enough, no point in this honestly.

I'm glad Dave is back in Metallica. They need him. Metallica is getting sucky. They need someone as good as Dave.

It says that in the article. They just played a Diamond Head song during the jam, this is the first time since 1982 that Mustaine has played a Metallica song with them.

Metallica made Ride the Lightning and Master of Puppets with no help from Dave. They're two different bands with different musical directions, Dave wouldn't bring a positive effect and he should stick with Megadeth.

Ok, that was pretty damn cool. I haven't even listened to Metallica in a year or so but watching that was still really neat seeing the original 4 playing live.

James Hetfield makes me happy.

My god...

Maybe Metallica will make good music again, if this isn't just a one-off

Metallica is Metallica and Megadeth is Megadeth, there are certian aspects of each I like and some I don't.

Pretty cool story otherwise.

It was a one-off, do you honestly believe they would replace Trujillo with Ron McGovney?

Even cooler, for Hit The Lights they had Lloyd Grant, the guy who played on the demo of the song, join the group as well...

Eh I wouldn't mind. That dude bugs the hell out of me.

Cool thing. Hope that project Dave envisioned (Hetfield, Ulrigh, himself and Ellefson as a superband).

Why do people keep forgetting The Call of Ktulu and Ride the Lightning for convenience? Those two songs are written by Dave nearly single-handed.. Underrated songs, both of them :p

Still think Megadeth is better...
Quote by Gabel
You are EXTREMELY WRONG! I have played it. I own an 18W and it would be an awful stereo amp, it's way too bright, breaks up too easily and so on. Secondly, why would a guitar store sell an hifi amp.

They're not my words But you're right I guess, there are lots of better drummers around who can do more than snare hits in 4/4....

100 years from now kids are still going to argue over if Metallica or Megadeth is better.

As in the chord progression in the intro of Ktulu and a riff in Lightning? Oh yeah, those are the entire songs.
