I want to get a tele plus **(like jonny greenwood)** without the high prices. I dont want to do the work myself so im gonna have it done at GC. Im not sure wether to get a mim tele and have lace sensors installed with the humbucker in the bridge. that would be expensive because i need new electronics for split coils and what not. I could also get this http://www.guitarcenter.com/Fender-Modern-Player-Telecaster-Plus-Electric-Guitar-107274904-i2013859.gc and have the middle pickup removed, then have the lace sensors installed. that way i would save a lot of money, but would i lose sound quality? I hear the modern player is great, especially for the price. Its similar to the CV. Its a pine body, and the neck has a nice glossy finish unlike the mim. Thanks fo the input.

I'm a huge fan of Jonny Greenwood and Radiohead.. but i don't really get the point of trying to copy peoples gear and attempting to get their sound. Why not just go out and find your own sound? But if i was you, i'd just put a gold lace sensor in the middle position just for some more versatility.

i will admit this is kind of rediculous, but it is more that i am interested in the telecaster plus from the 90's than getting jonny greenwoods sound. I am fascinated that a fender can be so versatile.

has anyone played the MP tele yet? it seems interesting

Take the extra money you would save by getting a graphite nut (and replace the plastic one) and it will play and sound better than mim tele's.

Its already on par with other mim teles, and since you'll save money, you can do good mods, like a nut change, and putting in steel saddles.

so your saying just to get the modern plus and put on these:
