Whilst browsing through the endless hours of mindless video on youtube instead of studying I happened to stumble upon what is allegedly one of the greatest posts ever. I would happen to be referring to a little video with merely a 100 thousand views or so (although it is a repost ) that contains not only some moving images but also the final speech from Charlie Chaplins final speech in " The Great Dictator ".

I know that this most likely belongs in the youtube thread, but despite this I put it into the depths of the pit. Why?

The same reason as always, I honestly would like to hear your opinons on this video how it made you feel and so forth.

Personally this video hit home for reasons I'm not to sure of, it could possibly be because I've seen famine and poverty first hand or it simply could be because it invokes a basic human reaction in our sub conscious.

found a cool video and thought the pit would like to see and share their thoughts on it.

Don't think I've ever been sigged.

I pretty much never leave the drug thread anymore.
Beethovens 9th symphony has the same message as this spech.

English translation
Oh friends, not these tones!
Rather, let us raise our voices in more pleasing
And more joyful sounds!
Joy! (Joy!)
Joy! (Joy!)

Joy, beautiful spark of the gods*
Daughter from Elysium,
We enter, drunk with fire,
Into your sanctuary, heavenly (daughter)!
Your magic reunites
What custom strictly divided.
All men become brothers,
Where your gentle wing rests

Whoever has had the great fortune
To be a friend's friend,
Whoever has won a devoted wife,
Join in our jubilation!
Indeed, whoever can call even one soul,
His own on this earth!
And whoever was never able to, must creep
Tearfully away from this band!

Joy all creatures drink
At the breasts of nature;
All good, all bad
Follow her trail of roses.
Kisses she gave us, and wine,
A friend, proved in death;
Pleasure was given to the worm,
And the cherub stands before God.
Before God!

Glad, as His suns fly
Through the Heaven's glorious design,
Run, brothers, your path,
Joyful, as a hero to victory

Be embraced, millions!
This kiss for the whole world!
Brothers, above the starry canopy
Must a loving Father dwell.
Do you bow down, millions?
Do you sense the Creator, world?
Seek Him beyond the starry canopy!
Beyond the stars must He dwell.

Finale repeats the words:
Be embraced, you millions!
This kiss for the whole world!
Brothers, beyond the star-canopy
Must a loving Father dwell.
Be embraced,
This kiss for the whole world!
Joy, beautiful spark of the gods,
Daughter of Elysium,
Joy, beautiful spark of the gods
Spark of the gods!

Amazing speech.

Buster Keaton was the best though, as far as silent movie stars go.

The speech was alright but the accompanying music and video was so cheesy I had troubles with my lactose intolerance.
As much as a love positivity, this whole thing (video collage included) seemed like a bunch of meaningless less gibberjabber.
This video is so two generations ago.
The lake was silent for some time. Finally it said:
"I weep for Narcissus, but I never noticed that Narcissus was beautiful. I weep because, each time he knelt beside my banks, I could see, in the depths of his eyes, my own beauty reflected."
