It's about time for this, is it not? I'm bad at lists but stuff that I was stoked on this year: Lemuria, House Boat, Tyler the Creator, probably a bunch of other good stuff that I'll remember when you guys start posting!

The only album from this last year that wasn't by a local band was Wasting Light by the Foos.

Some really good local stuff though:
Lo-Pan (Stoner Rock) album: Salvador
My friends Thee Now Sound (punky garage rock) and their two EPs: Up Syndrome and Seize Thee Sound
Charlie Hustle (more garage punk) EP: Easy Money
Churches Burn (Sludge) EP: Extraordinary Suns

I'll post some more if I think of them.

1. Wild Flag - Wild Flag (I'm so pathetically in luv with this band )
2. Stephen Malkmus & The Jicks - Mirror Traffic (Janet's a supastar )
3. Earth - Angels of Darkness, Demons of Light I (looking forward to II)

I listened to a few other records too, but I don't care about them enough to rank them because I was mostly too busy listening to Loveless.

Also I guess this list wasn't very punk, unless Wild Flag are punk (they're so punk). Oh well, too bad.

David Comes to Life is the best Punk album this year. Fucked Up is a seriously amazing band.
Best album period this year is either Deconstruction by Devin Townsend or Epsilon by Blood Stain Child.I can't really decide, I listen to them both obsessively.

I like the new Star F*cking Hipsters album as it has rapping on it.

I didn't like it at all when I first listened, but I think it's starting to grow on me.

My list (I've made 'em like 4 times now, but I can't remember everything):

Night Birds - The Other Side of Darkness / Midnight Movies
Crazy Spirit - I'm Dead EP
Loose Ends - Cut Loose EP
Cheap Girls/Lemuria - Split 7"
Nuclear Santa Claust - s/t 7"
Too Many Voices - Demo (singer from Kill Your Idols, check it out)
Secret Police - They're Everywhere EP (check 'em out)

I probably forgot some shit...

Tyler's new album was like half really good, half sub-meh. Sometimes I like it a lot, sometimes I'm like, "ehhh."

I keep seein' 'em on lists & shit, so I might's'well say, Touché Amoré was playin' like every time I went into Newbury Comics over the summer, and I thought they suck'd balls every time. Diff'rent strokes for diff'rent folks, I s'pose.

I don't even know how one listens to that much new stuff per year.

internet - life = lots of time on one's hands

I'm the exact same way, but I've barely listened to anything new.

I guess it's mostly because I'm far better at finding cool old bands than I am finding cool new ones. Except locally, but most of the good local bands never release anything.

No Banner Pilot love?

I can't really think of anything other than their new album and DOMESPLITTER 'cause iTunes is updating.

Wait, shit, scrap that, the fucking Apologies, I Have None/Calvinball/ONSIND split. Great guys, great bands, AWESOME split. Especially the Apologies songs. I fucking love those guys.

The Crazy Arm album is pretty great too.

Also high fives to Collin and Zach for The SMiLE Sessions, as unpunx as that album is. Surf's Up is a fucking great song.
FUCK YOU! GET PUMPED!

I knew I had to be forgetting something. Banner Pilot put out what I think is their best yet.

Due 07: What's the deal with Das Racist? I feel like I keep seeing the name in magazines. Worth me checking out?

I think Goblin is a lot more consistent than Bastard. There's only a couple songs on Goblin that I feel the need to skip. Not the most vindicative statement but I'm totally a Tyler dick rider.

Yep, they're probably my favorite rap group right now. Relax was pretty good, but it doesn't quite stack up to their two mixtapes from last year (Shut Up, Dude and Sit Down, Man).

I wish his albums were a little better and more consistent, 'cuz I really really like him. They're just a little hard to sit all the way through.

There were fifty albums made this year?!?!?

Really though my music consumption is basically down to the equivalent of that last bit of urine you squeeze out at the end of a tinkle. I basically just wait for this thread to roll around every year and then go listen to whatever Collin talks about.

I'll never get through that though, thanks a lot.

I'm surprised there's been no mention of Tenement in this thread. Not my cup of tea per say, but it seems like something everyone's been wicked into. Are people aware of this band?

A stupid They Might Be Giants cover is enough for me not to listen to any other songs off the album. There was on streaming at punknews for a while that I was into, so maybe I should check this out after all.

Oh shizzle, how did I forget North Sentinel Island? I love The Copyrights. I think this is my favourite album of theirs. Though I dunno. It's close between that, Learn The Hard Way and...I forgot what it's called. Hang on.

...Make Sound. I always get that mixed up with Mutiny Pop. Damn Ms.

But yeah. North Sentinel Island.

Omegas - Blasts of Lunacy

I've been hearing about Omegas a lot lately. Mostly because they played the Night Birds record release show (that I missed ) last weekend. Wanna pick up some of their shit, what I've heard so far is cool.
