I am thinking of getting a DVD lesson about shredding/soloing which can improve my shredding/soloing skills. Do you have any suggestions?

I have thought about the "Shred alert" from Paul Gilbert: http://cdon.no/b%C3%B8ker/gilbert%2c_paul/paul_gilbert_presents_shred_alert!-11593944

Or maybe "super shred guitar" from Andy Aledort: http://cdon.no/b%C3%B8ker/aledort%2c_andy/super_shred_guitar-7780200

What do you think? Or do you know about other good DVD lessons?

Thoughts?
Opinions?
Suggestions?

They're all welcome,
Thank you!

I would recommend neither of those videos because I'm not familiar with them at all.

The ones I would recommend would be John Petrucci's "Rock Discipline" and Marty Friedman's "Melodic Control".

Rock Discipline has some awesome warm-ups in it and some really nice technical drills. I like his approach to technique in general (barring his anchored picking hand).

Melodic Control is invaluable in learning how to phrase a solo and really make your technical skills turn ideas into music.

Rock Discipline was great.....IMO the best one was MAB's Speed Kills series

It teaches you the exercises you must do to actually build the physical strength and capabilities in order to shred proficiently. Then he goes into advanced scales and what not.
