Allright guys, I have the opportunity to get a new guitar, and have trouble deciding. Right now, I'm looking for a guitar with a good tremolo, sounds good for lead playing, has a nice metal sounding tone. I'm not really knowledgeable about the different types of woods, and how they vary. I need a guitar with at least 24 frets.

Some of my favorite artists are: Eucharist, At the Gates, Metallica, Immolation, Intestine Baalism and Dissection.

I've been eyeing these guitars in particular:
BC Rich Kerry King V Generation (Black one, with the pre-amp switch built in).

Dean RC7 Rusty Cooley- Anyone have this guitar? What are your opinions on it? I really like the whole design of the guitar, but I've never really played a seven string before, besides once or twice. Is it hard to transition? Is it actually helpful having the extra string?

Caparison Horus- I've heard some really good things about this guitar. What is the general thought about them? Really like the headstock, cool looking finish.

Also, whats the general consensus about razorbacks? I've heard that they aren't well made, not great quality.

I'm always open to other guitars, I dont know too many great brands, styles, etc. Anyone have good suggestions?

Right now, I'm currently using a Gibson Les Paul Standard Sunburst, made before they introduced chambering and pleking i believe.

Thanks guys!

Schecter makes very nice guitars. I currently own a Schecter Damien elite Avenger with a Floyd rose. The EMG picups are fantastic, and the floyd stays in tune very nicely. You wont be dissapointed when you buy a schecter!

What's your budget and must haves for a new guitar?
I'd recommend a good Jackson or Ibanez.
I won't spend the extra money on getting a signature model. You're paying more for the name than anything else.

Can't go wrong with an Ibanez S. I've got an S2120XAV and I've never regretted it for a second - that thing ate thrash metal alive.

Not really a fan of shecters imo. *flame shield on* I've played my friends hellraiser, just something about it, doesnt really suit me that well. Well for budget, im looking at about up to 2.5k. But it better be a really sickass guitar haha. I'm really interested in the horus at this point. The rc7 is really tempting too... the choices man, the choices

if i had that amount to spend on a guitar, it would be either a Suhr, Anderson, Caparison, Ibanez J-Custom or a used Gibson Les Paul Custom

i played a John Petrucci (sp?) JP6 at GC that was amazing. it had a piezo in it as well.

i am a self proclaimed amp wh*re, so thats where my money goes.

For that you either get a used ESP Horizon Custom or a Jackson SL1.

You could get a custom Carvin. Might need new pick ups, but they're great USA guitars, that you design and are affordable.
