As a bass player of 4 years, in the past year and a half I've just recently gotten into guitar, so I really don't have much in the way of gear (just really a junker Squier strat.) So for Christmas, my mom has offered to give me money for a new amp or take me down to the pawn shop to get an acoustic guitar to play on. They're both things I could use, so that's why I came here to get some opinions.

The amp would probably be something along the lines of a Fender Mustand III or JCA22H, and the acoustic would be the best one I can get my hands on for the money.

What would you do?

Also, I'm going to pretty much ignore you if you say "what you really need is a new amp" without anything else with it, or "fog machine FFFSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHH"

Why post a sensible question in the pit.

This is the pit... Where lack of rationality and logic combine.

Depends on what type of music you're trying to play. If you're into acoustic music, acoustic guitar. If you're playing anything otherwise, get the amp.
Just a sub-par guitar player..

It depends on what you want. I'd sell the Squire and pool the money with mom to get a new good guitar, either acoustic or electric depending on what you want.
