Hey guys, just a couple quick questions. I have the opportunity of getting a Mackie 1604 VLZ Pro for about $200, so I'm stoked for it. I'll mostly use it for live stuff, but I may use it to record too. My only questions is, since how to record 16 tracks, when the mixer doesn't have that many outs to go to an interface.

Are you going to be recording 16 tracks at a time? Tbh if you're tracking individually (which is the standard thing to do), you should only need 8/9 tracks.

You don't need epic tone in the bedroom any more than you need mood lighting to masturbate.

I'm more concerned with recording live performances on individual tracks. I'd need about 6 channels for drums, 4 vocals, 2 guitars, 1 bass, and the other 3 tracks would be if I needed them for something else.

What if I were to get 2 Alesis IO26's and plug the mics to those, and send them to my computer, and use the 1/4 outputs on those into the mixer for live sound. Would that function alright?
