Low to High:

A-G-C-F-A-D

So, 1 step down and dropped to an A on the E string but I just wanted to know the name of this tuning.

I just call it dropped A, or Mastodon A, but that's not the official naming;P
But if I say a song is in A my friends know I mean this tuning.

Drop C with the low C dropped down to A? Periphery also used this tuning on a few songs. As did Architects, although they did Drop B with the low b down to G#.

Open Dm11/A lol.

LOL!

I wouldnt add the /A in a tuning, unless all the open strings were being used as a chord in the song. lol. But I could see how that A could throw people, "huh what do you mean it's in D, that's an A in the bass d00d"

If someone insisted on some sort of "A" name for it...

A G C F A D

Am11b13 (no 5th or 9)

Best,

Sean
