I know that a 2000 through 2009 looks like MZxxxxxxx, where the first x is the year number. Anyone know what the serial number of a 2010 or 2011 looks like?

I'm shopping for a 2006 or later MIM strat, and want to know how to tell what I'm looking at. Thanks for your help.

They used M for the Made in Mexico models from their introduction until last year, so an "MN" would be an MIM in the 1990s; an "MZ" would be one made in the 2000s.

As of about July of last year the MIM models now use an "MX10" serial number. Don't know about this year...

Oh, and "MS" was used for MIM signature models like the Jimmie Vaughn guitars.

I tried setting my password to "penis". It said my password wasn't long enough.
