I heard somewhere that people actually buy old, vintage peavey tubes. Something like "browned out tubes" is what they're called? Anyways, I'm wondering if this is true, just curious.
Thanks UG!
It's a horrible lie.

Peavey never made tubes, old burned out tubes are worthless, Peavey hasn't even been around long enough to have used decent NOS tubes stock, etc.

So, if there's any silver of truth in that, it is that NOS (New Old Stock) tubes are very good tubes. That means brand new tubes that were made in the 50s or 60s or so, back when they made them very well. "Browned out" tubes from somebody's mid-80s 5150 are worthless.
