Best band. Discuss.

They did a split with Summer Vacation which is cool because Summer Vacation is a great band.

I agree. I'm gonna try and make a band like this. The drummer in Empty Houses likes Jawbreaker so we're gonna jam stuff like this and maybe make a side-project.

Their S/T is a serious contender for my AOTY.

You mean we didn't have a Joyce Manor thread?!

Apparently not. Although we've had discussions about their S/T in multiple other threads

Been loving this the past couple months. Kinda wish they would tour more though, the only time I've had a chance to see them I was out of town.

I was obsessed with this band for a couple months before and during the summer. Still like 'em a lot; their s/t is easily one of the best albums of the year.

Love this band.

I fucking love their lyrics.

"When you make a decent living, will you buy me a train set and a hat?
So that I can sit alone in my room, sending people away from the ones they love
OR CRASH THEM INTO BUILDINGS, EXPLOSIONS, DERAILMENTS AND SCREAMING CHILDREN"

I see what you did there. I like it too.

I'm not a singles guy usually but does anyone think the awesomeness of 'constant headache' dwarfs the other songs on the album?

One of my top 5 songs this year fo' sho'

Oh lawd, "Midnight Service at the Mutter Museum" sounds like it'd be right at home as a Pinkerton b-side. (That's a good thing.)

I'm seeing the band (especially the full-length) atop many end-of-the-year lists, and that makes me happy, they defs earned it. Everything JM released this year is fantastic. <3

I am in now in love with this band, which is weird because I've been listening to a lot less of stuff like this, so thank you.

Finally going to listen to their release from last year after the new Alcest.

Pretty good stuff. I saw them open for Snowing and Algernon Cadwallader in Philly last year. Great live.

You lucky bastard, that is a perfect line up.

It was pretty awesome.

Still bummed that Snowing called it quits. I saw them live 3-4 times. So much fun.
#27
I'm sure I remember daytripper posting about having seen Snowing play with his friend's band. So he was asked who his friend's band was. He named them, and a few people had heard of them and liked them, and the ones who hadn't listened and liked them. A year later We Were Skeletons are on tour in Europe with The Saddest fucking Landscape.
My name is Danny. Call me that.

Pretty much all of that.

I wish I could have traveled across the pond for one of their shows.

I caught (what I presume to be) that same tour in Columbus, if Joyce Manor played that show and I had no idea I am going to be really bummed out.

Awesome. These guys could potentially have a top 3 album for two years in a row for me.

Well it is coming out fairly quickly But if all there songs are like their self titled it'll be less than 20 minutes long

I'd rather a band take their time to release something kewlrrr. It's going to be hella short or they're going to use longer songs, which is, like, the antithesis of Joyce Manor.

Don't get me wronge, I'm super stoked. They're like my third favorite current band I think. I'm just in a curmudgeonly mood.
