Hey guys, I've been having quite the breakouts lately! Can't really handle it anymore, I just go yelling and barely keeping myself from crashing something really valuable! ugh I dont wanna tell much about it but if you've had something similar or something would you suggest me a good way of getting over it? Might even consider getting pills (anti-deperssants? painkillers? i dont know, you say)

See your doctor and get prescribed something.
The lake was silent for some time. Finally it said:
"I weep for Narcissus, but I never noticed that Narcissus was beautiful. I weep because, each time he knelt beside my banks, I could see, in the depths of his eyes, my own beauty reflected."

My friend had it. Easily fixable.

I threw him off a cliff.
They made me do push ups in drag

I'm gonna have a really hard time if we're both cannibals and racists.

edit: Consider asking your doctor for some antidepressants like Effexor. They help with long term treatment of anxiety. Tranqs are pretty addictive, so they are usually only prescibed for short term treatment and on the occassion that it gets overwhelmingly bad.

Start meditating:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E9b4FbGlVSE

Acne is a skin disease. Dis ease. Lower stress = lower breakouts.

Start sleeping on your back too. I found most of my breakouts are from shifting around on pillow, even with a fresh towel every night. It sucks at first, but you get used to it. Then there's drinking water, daily/evening cleanser, followed by Aloe Vera Gel or other moisturizer.

Scottish showers are good for skin:
http://artofmanliness.com/2010/01/18/the-james-bond-shower-a-shot-of-cold-water-for-health-and-vitality/

Warm water on face to open pores, wash with cleanser, than cold water to close the pores.

Yeah man speak to your doctor. Maybe a close friend too if there's somebody you feel you can talk to.

Self medicating you're problems is never a good idea.

Anti-depressants aren't something that should be taken likely. They're intended for people with an actual clinical depression, meaning a structural change in your brain. So no they won't help if you're not clinically depressed.

Taking painkillers isn't a good idea either. Once again they're not intended to deal with the problems your having. Sedating yourself might make you feel less at the moment of use but that's not going to change the cause of your problems. Not even to get into the negative side effects of taking drugs and all other potential problems associated with taking them.

It's hard to help someone if you don't know the nature of the problem. Who do you have to talk to about you're problems? I would suggest trying to find someone who can share your thoughts and feelings with. They don't need to necessarily give advice, just having someone who will listen can help a lot.

In that case, I suggest you tell your friends/family, and try to scrape some cash together and get a referral to a psych. Cognitive therapy does wonders.

I'd still recommend meditating and excercise for a month before going to a psych about it. And I mean really dedicating yourself to it every day. Really hard work outs and cardio every day, and see if that helps.

You can start exercising. If you haven't in a while just go for a walk. You gotta exercise though. I haven't gone for run in 2 weeks and it's having it's effects on me.

Good advice right here!

First page in the drug thread has a really good tech on making firecracker edibles if you follow it step by step. I wouldn't try to rely even on weed though to cure your problems, and I'd be careful on having too much per edible, but it might help if you've had experience with it helping before.

Did you eat a bunch of fire crackers because you have a hard on for them tonite xD
I feel like I should make some, I didn't realize how little weed you need. If you don't want to smoke its completely understandable but there's absolutely no health concers to brownies or peanut butter crackers. It calms you down, no anxiety, makes you happy, no deperession, makes you listen to music in a different way(the cure is my best example-if you don't like the cure listen to them high, it sounds completely different), and makes you fat hahahaha

Well smoking weed might make some people more paranoid. But if you're exercising and it isn't enough, train harder. They say you haven't had a good workout until you feel your ears pop.

Opiates like Percocet (oxycodone) and even the "non-Narcotic" opiates like Tramadol have wicked bad after effects. They will work great for a couple months and you will feel great, but once you get used to them, your depression and mental stability slowly start to go out the window and you will be worse than you are now, especially when you can't find them. Avoid the pills, trust me. Talk to your doctor.

By the sounds of it you may have an anxiety disorder though i'm hardly a specialist.

Seriously just see a doctor. As for the meds, they still prescribe benzodiazepines for this shit so far as i know i.e Xanax and Valium

This...

Or, find more hobbies, such as:
1. play more guitar or learn a new style.
2. Get a case of beer, a couple shot guns, a case of blue rock/clay pigeons, find a dirt road or some friend's private ground, a buddy and get to shooting.

Actually, both 1 and 2 should cure your anxiety/stress.

Also this. Kicked my stripper girlfriend out and my last roomate out, because he had anger issues and trashed my house by destroying alot of my sh*t , kicking and punching holes in my walls, breaking windows, and stealing my truck when I was sleeping. Solution, surround yourself with people who aren't douche bags, and are down to earth and not trash. Hope this helps.

I was on antidepressants for more than a year. It numbed me to everything, and I found myself acting very strangely. But they did have an effect, I didn't truly feel better until I came off them though.

It sounds strange but I don't feel emotion anymore like I used to.

That's more an individual difference. I'm on some at the moment (though not for strictly depression), and I get little side effects from them like that, which few others seem to report when taking them. They might've not been right for you.

The problem is that we prescribe anti-depressants far too quickly. While in a lot of cases there are better alternatives to the problem, but that's an entirely different discussion. Just be aware of what you're taking EVEN if your doctor prescribes them. Some doctors just like in every other profession make bad judgments or mistakes. Inform yourself on the matter before you make your own decision.

Would you rather permanently solve your problems or just put them off for a while? If you could solve them by changing things in your immediate environment or by talking to people, would you rather do that or take a pill? That most certainly will have negative side effects on your mental well being and health. The diarrhea will be immediate the anti depressing effects will take a while to start acting, because certain things in the brain need changing. Keeping in mind that not all anti-depressants work for all people. So after a few months of the shits you might have to switch to a different type. (you can tell I'm currently studying for my pharmacology exams, well that's what I'm supposed to be doing)

As far as smoking/eating weed goes, it may calm you down then again it may not. That really depends on you. But again the reason why I personally wouldn't do this is because the cause of the problem will probably still be present. Bad relations with your family and other social factors won't go away if you take that route. You might end up in a vicious cycle where you light up every time things go to hell. Not implying you'll become an addict or anything like that, just that it may not be the best solution to your problems.

May I ask what you think the cause is of your problems?

Same here, one of my ex's thought I had an anxiety issue years back. So I went to the doctor and he prescribed me Fluoxitine (or something like that), only pills I have taken in my life, besides tylonel, and ibprouphin (sp), but I did "peak," 2 1/2 weeks into it and felt a million times better. Took it regularily, and 2 weeks later felt depressed as all hell. Stopped taking it, went off cold, felt better than I have before. I guess it had an adverse affect on me also.

I don't think anxiety is anything like depression but if I had access to a shotgun I would shoot myself in the head, so maybe not good advice but I'm not knowledgeable on mental conditions so whatever.
