My friend owns a Fender 1000 Roc Pro 100 Watt Tube Head and a Fender cab 4x12 combo, and I was thinking of buying it for 400$. I just wanted to find out the year, it looks vintage to me. Once i'm home ill add a picture...

Isn't that the hybrid head? with 4 6l6 powertubes but a ss front end. If it is my buddy has one and its alright but not that great.

they are from the 90's I believe. They are an OK amp, but nothing great.

They are from the 90's, and hybrids, but they are the other way around from what Rob stated. They have a single 12ax7 in the preamp (usually worn, you'll have to replace it if you buy one) and a SS power section. The 12ax7 is only used for the drive circuit, and the cleans are purely SS.

Is it worth $350? No. Is it worth $175? Yes: http://www.guitarcenter.com/In-Store-Used-USED-FENDER-ROC-PRO-1000-COMBO--8--225-106926627-i2166833.gc?&source=4WFRWXX&CAWELAID=1046309350

It's a decent practice amp; doesn't sound splendidly splendid but does the job (I'd personally buy it over a Blackstar HT-5), Also, Yngwie Malmsteen used them for clinics and sessions. With a good working preamp tube it can do anything up to Pantera-esq metal to metalcore. They go really cheap used, I'm seeing the head version on Guitar Center for $99.
