I just found a few clips that show a 50 watt version of the Peavey JSX head. They said it was only produced for a short time and is nowhere near the gain of the JSX. I was just curious if anyone has actualy played one or even see one of these. They look pretty interesting

I don't think it was ever actually released to the public. I've seen like... 1. Ever. On ebay. Not IRL.

Speaking of which Peavey, how's that XXX II going?

I believe the JSX 50 had the misfortune of being released about the time that Satriani was ready to sever his ties with Peavey. I don't know how many were released. I never saw one in a shop.

50 watt version for nearly the same MSRP as the JSX100?

Might as well just get the JSX and hit the 50 watt switch.

You know what? There isn't one. I confused it with my Legacy.

I would just pull two tubes from the jsx if I wanted 50 watts though.

JSX 50? You mean this:

It's still made, just not as a JSX. Shortly after the head was developed Satch ditched Peavey and went back to Marshall. So they reissued it as The Butcher:

This somewhat bothered me, as they already had a head called "The Butcher" back in the 80's. It appeared to be a JCM 800 ripoff, although it had 6l6gc's instead of EL34's:
