I've been wanting to upgrade from my crappy stand-alone record player since I have a lot of good music on vinyl. I am not looking to mix.

I know you need a record player (obviously :P), a stereo receiver, and some speakers. Otherwise I don't know much about a good set up. My budget is around the $240 mark.

Here's 2 record players I've been looking at:

Would I need to set up anything different if i used a USB turntable?

Now for stereo receivers I was thinking: http://www.amazon.com/Sony-STR-DH100-2-Channel-Audio-Receiver/dp/B001TP3CH8/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1324616926&sr=1-1

And for speakers I was thinking: http://www.amazon.com/Sony-SS-B1000-8-Inch-Bookshelf-Speakers/dp/B000OG88KY/ref=pd_bxgy_e_img_b

Besides RCA cables, what else would I need? How do I set this all up? Are 5 1/8" speakers big enough? Can I hook everything up to two kustom brand 12" speakers that have 1/4" inputs?

Sorry if I am leaving any crucial information out & if any of this sounds stupid or redundant.

Thank you!!

Oh and what would I need to be able to play cds? and could I hook up tv surround sound to this? (I'm thinking no)
