I have custom made amp with 4x ECC83S – JJ Tubes which I use for clean and overdrive (This are pre amp tubes). So,2 separate pre amps are using same tubes. Is it possible to "convert" amp that clean is using KT88s and overdrive 6L6 for example?

Would amp then look like:
4x KT88 for clean,and 4x 6L6 for overdrive.
or
2x KT88 for clean,and 2x 6L6 for overdrive.

I have enough space in head box,so that won't be a problem. Tnx.

Huh?

Why are you talking about power tubes and preamp tubes in the same sentence? You could mod your amp to take KT88s, but unless it was deigned to take different tubes to begin with ( a la the Tweaker) the hassle would not be worth it.

If I'm not mistaken it's not just about swapping in a few electronic components.

Huh?

I smell a troll, you have a "custom" tube amp but you don't know where the KT88 and 6L6 are supposed to go?

You wanna stick power tubes in your preamp positions? It ain't gonna work.

That makes no sense. I realize you are new here but damn dude.

Why would put power tubes in a preamp?

What is your goal?

The V1 preamp usually handles cleans (clean channel) so if you want to try to get a nicer clean tone then go for something like a Tung Sol 12AX7 preamp tube in V1.
