Hey

This is my first recording of a piece Ive written. I used Acoustica beatcraft for the drums and Podfarm for the guitars. I was going for a post-rock feel but it changes somewhat and I put in a beatles-esque part somewhere in there.
Its still quite rough but I would like to know what you all think about it.

Ive never posted here before but comments and criticisms are welcome. I would also be glad to have a listen and give my opinion about your works.

Cheers

Hey, this is nice, I'm quite the fan of post-rock.

A lot of your passages and drumwork is quite nice, but sometimes it doesn't quite gel properly, it can sound like you have too many layers.

Something I do to help keep everything all linked and in time is decide my time signature before starting recording, then I put a kick drum on every beat, just to help me keep time. And I build up the layers based around the beat, with different layers having different purposes, i.e. mid-range chords, harmonizing/octave arpeggios or the same chords an octave higher, lead melody etc.

I think the metal style drums sound a tad out of place too, perhaps you could have them slower with a bit of reverb? I find that tends to build atmosphere a bit better.

I dunno, that's just my two cents though. I enjoy the scales you're using and I really like the rhythm in some sections. Well done, keep up the good work!

The guitar part is pretty good but the not-so-fitting drum sounds stand out too much in my opinion.
