The only ex-F1 driver who has made a serious stab at Trucks was Piquet Jr, and thats only because he ran away to the farthest region of motorsport he could find from F1 after crashgate.

Yeah Kimi tried it, but only as a gag.

Jaime to GT or WEC if he doesnt get a F1 gig.

Yeah, We saw that Giancarlo Fisichella is a boss in GT cars, that's gotta be encouraging for other F1 drivers.

WHo do you think will be in Williams' other seat?

I can't decide, i think it's between Sutil and Barrichello, though.

I always thought DTM was a popular option for those on their way out of F1.

^ If I were religious I would be praying for Rubens. Nice guy and a safe pair of hands with experience driving the 2011 car. The engineering team desperately want Rubens back however given the recent termination of the AT&T sponsorship money may be even more important now.

Mostly older drivers though, Alguersuari can't be older than 25.

He's like 22 or something.

True fact.

Rubens Barrichello has only won races in a year where either his team has won WCC or his teammate has won WDC.

Anyway I think it's time he moved on, give someone else a chance.

Pardon my ignorance, but what's DTM?

Ah It's pretty good, I saw them race and Brands Hatch just over a year ago and it awesome. Slightly more looking forward to seeing F1 at Spa this summer though.

DTM this year should be boss too.. We've actually got an amazing year lined up -

F1 - New drivers, older drivers coming back (Kimi) - New track, new rules.

DTM - New cars, new drivers, New manufacturer

BTCC - New cars, new rules, new drivers, more crashing, possibly less plato.

IndyCar - New cars, terrible drivers, ample crashing, lots of circles.

V8s - Bathurst. Nuff said.

WEC - ..It's the WEC. This could be awesome. Also DeltaWing?

NASCAR - OVALS.

Feeder formulae - Hopefully more of the same, Excellent GP2 in some races this year, and GP3 is well.. Slow, but pretty cool nonetheless.

Just what I'm looking forward to ^^

I was at the corner on Knockhill where Plato span out this last season.

Mega Lol'z were had when he got out the car slamming the door shut etc. He's a good driver but far too up himself.

Whoops I didn't see your reply earlier.

I have no idea right now, we're not in the grandstands. We have the 'bronze' tickets because we got them so cheap. From what I understand that means we can stand anywhere around the track that isn't already covered by a grandstand.

Any idea where would be good to stand? Unfortunately my situation means no Eau Rouge, etc.

So do any of you guys also follow NASCAR? I personally don't really like it. Given the opportunity I'd probably go and see a race, but I just can't watch more than 20 minutes on TV or anything.

Plato isn't on Fifth Gear this year. I love Tiff though. The guy knows how to be entertaining while driving.

Some of us try and make an effort every now and then, like when Raikkonen was doing a little bit of racing there. But yeah it doesn't hold my interest anyway. It's not awful but it's not really all that interesting either.

smb and Perry589 both follow it fairly closely IIRC, they know more than the rest of us I think..

Oh thank god he isn't.

I heard about him choosing not to attend a Dan Wheldon service because he was hung over...

What a douche

Speaking of Tiff, have you seen his F1 record?

And about nascar again; Guess I'm not the only one that doesn't find it entertaining.

Speaking of IndyCar, I've been doing some reading on the new Car and, by all accounts, signs point to it being a gigantic crapwagon:

Meh, it could outperform the Red Bull RB7 and it would still get called a crapwagon. Guess people cant get passed 1996 huh

This is what the Team Lotus Dreyer Reinbold cars are going to look like, sans sponsors of course.

Just reading the safety car un-lapping rules...
Quote by Autosport
This will only apply to cars that were lapped at the time they crossed the Line at the end of the lap during which they crossed the first Safety Car line for the second time after the safety car was deployed.

Wut...?
#186
I think it's saying that if you have crossed the safety car line twice since it was deployed, and you are considered to be lapped at the end of that lap. You get to unlap yourself.

So ... pass the safety car line twice whilst lapped. Unless I suppose the guy that has lapped you pits on that same lap, you get to unlap yourself.

Dallara built the dw12, they also built the first hrt chassis which was also pants.

I don't think their prototype chassis are any good either.

How it stays in business is beyond me.

Also, I'm into Nascar. But I'm into anything racing. Go Edwards!

Also, there are a few youngens in DTM. Molina, Mortara, Vietoris etc

Didn't Di Resta come from DTM?

Yep, four seasons I think.

He was the first driver to go from DTM to F1 directly, usually its where guys who have retired from f1 go that don't go to le mans e.g. ralf, dc, hakkinen, frentzen
#190
dallara do engineering for manufacturers as well. they did stuff for the veyron I think.

and yeah Di resta came from dtm, seems to have served him well. a season or two in other types of racing seems to help eg schumacher did sports cars , seemed to help him learn how to drive around problems like broken gearboxes

James Allen is back! On 5live

Now we just have to wait and see who is joining him.

Dallara make some good cars, but it does seem that occasionally they hit a bad patch, like with the HRT F110, and this DW12, which is a shame.

^^^^^ I follow NASCAR as often as I remember it's on, for some reason I enjoy watching people drive in circles.

Valencia - DNW

But contract renegotiation means they are losing too much money and they want mad discounts from Bernie to recover it. Drop it, drop it now.

I want to know more about this supposed deal to bring the French gp back at Paul Ricard, to alternate with spa...

True, twas the masterful driving skills of Mark Blundell in action.

I still found the results hilarious, similar to Buemi loosing his front wheels a while back
