I play about an hour and a half consecutively, but throughout the day I play up to four and a half hours.

Jeez, sometimes I sit in my room playing guitar all day.

Sometimes I get out of bed at 12 AM and play continuously until the sun rises. Odd, I know.

Longest gig set I've done was a wedding, needed about 1-2hrs of music and rehearsals for that dragged; never for more than 2 hours though.

Aside from that I've never done more than probably 1h30 of actual "playing" though I've sat with a guitar on my lap from dawn till dusk many a time.

Not exaggerating at all, but I once played for 13 hours. And playing for 6+ hours straight is fairly common for me. Just wish I was a little more skilled after putting that much time into it hah

I've played 5-6, MAYBE 7 hours at a time. That's usually right when I get a new guitar, so it doesn't happen very often.

I've done 4+ hours quite a few times. I don't do it all the time, but it's not that rare for me. I'm about to kick it into overdrive and regularly practice for 4+ hour sessions, shooting for about 6 hours a day.

Oh. That ruins the joke then :\

But seriously, when I'm on a musical roll and am writing a song, with inspiration just flowing through my mind, I can play all day. Usually I play guitar on average for maybe an hour in one sitting, though.

i don't know. i'm not particularly good at sitting down and doing any one thing for more than half an hour at a time usually. but i remember back a few semesters ago, i had 4 hours between classes 3 days a week and no way of getting home, so i brought my seven string to with me and played more or less nonstop that whole time, unplugged no less. it was just so boring. playing that long that often, out of having absolutely nothing else to do, is awful.

5 hours a night, 5 nights a week, plus 3 to 4 hours of practice per day, 2 to 3 hour rehearsals 3 times a week.. that's at least 46 hours a week for 3 1/2 years..

Now about an hour a day, and 5 hours in a night, or 4 hours for rehearsal.. but nowhere near every day...

About six hours. Once every two weeks or so I play guitar or piano for that amount of time and this is when all of my real improvement occurs.

I went like 8-9 hours when I first learned "technical difficulities" by paul gilbert. Continously, I didn't eat or anything else for that amount of time.

I wish I still had that motivation to play guitar. :\

10 hours a few times when I was just starting out, I'd practice religiously, I'd be trying to learn everything I wanted to learn to be able to play intence and technical metal and whatnot. But now a "long day of playing" at this point is around 3ish hours.
