I am in need of new sci-fi shows to watch.

I've already watched:
Star Trek TOS
Star Trek TNG
Star Trek DS9
Star Trek Voyager
Stargate: SG-1
Stargate: Atlantis
Firefly

I started on Stargate: Universe, but after 3 episodes it just felt so bland and uninspired so I stopped. If I got the wrong impression, let me know.

I'm currently working my way through Battlestar Galactica and it seems pretty good so far minus the obvious pandering to horny male teenagers.

I've only heard good things about Firefly.

If that's the right show I'm thinking of, I've never seen it either way.

Doctor Who is fun, campy Sci-Fi.

Caprica got good ratings but I haven't seen it yet. Watch it after you finish BSG.

Sanctuary is pretty good too. I have a thing for Amanda Tapping. Old as she may be.

I wouldn't call Doctor Who a comedy <.<

Fringe. Not sure that it's really the sci-fi you're looking for, as it's more X-Files than full on sci-fi, but still a bloody good show.

That was more directed to Red Dwarf.

Star Trek: Enterprise

It's a bit different for Star Trek but it still retains the Treky feeling.

Have you tried Farscape? It gets a bit surreal at times, but I like it.

Also noticed you didn't mention Star Trek: Enterprise. You should watch that, so long as you remember to fast forward through the theme tune it's a great show.

EDIT - looks like I was beaten to it...

I haven't. I'll look into it, but I despised Claudia Black in Stargate. Is she more tolerable in Farscape?

+1 to Doctor Who

Caprica I could take or leave, it's just not in the same league as BSG

got that right.

BSG is one of the best television series I've ever seen, scifi or otherwise. Once you get past the somewhat blatant fan service, it really is one of the most brilliant shows ever aired.

Caprica, on the other hand, is only worth watching if you're a completionist. It's better than most television series, but pales in comparison to BSG.

Farscape is pretty damn good as well.

Nobodies mentioned it yet, but what about Terra Nova?

I haven't seen it, but I've noticed it in the listings and wondered what it's like....Does anyone know?

I don't know what she's like in Stargate (only seen series 1), but I liked her in Farscape, which I maintain is the best sci-fi show in existence (apologies to Joss Whedon and Gene Roddenberry). Also has this guy

And the most magnificent of magnificent bastards, this guy
Both of whom can easily distract you from Claudia Black if you still hate her.

I also agree with everyone who has suggested Sanctuary

Her character in Stargate was a bit too comedic, I thought. In Farscape she plays a much more serious character. I never had any trouble with her.

The more comic character is this fellow

And now this is making me want to watch Farscape again.

Also check out Babylon 5. You need to watch from start to finish as there's an ongoing story arc throughout, but it's definitely worth watching. There are loads of theories out there that it was the main influence for DS9.

Space: Above any beyond. When I was a kid I watched it, it was surprisingly awesome. Not sure if anyone has heard of it these days.

Red Dwarf is kind of a sci-fi comedy, but if you like black adder, father ted, monthy python it'll probably be up your alley.

You guys are all suggesting Space-fi; It might not be your thing TS, but have you seen all the old Twilight Zone episodes? They're going on 50 years old, now, but in my opinion, they're all getting better with age

I can't get into doctor who, I've heard so many good things about it both my parents rate it well but I seem to catch a really poor episode and get turned off, I never watched star trek until recently and damn I'm impressed I'm not a big sci fi head but I'm so tempted to buy everything and watch it all,

And yet you felt Deep Space Nine was worth watching?

Don't get me wrong, Enterprise is shit, but so is DS9.

The X-Files are classic, but hard to imagine anyone who hasn't seen the episodes. Babylon 5 was in its time the best sci fi on TV. Epic.
I agree, Farscape was excellent. Battlestar Galactica likewise. ( the new one...The original was just...Silly)
I like Fringe.

I'd rather sit through the entire Enterprise series over watching a single episode of DS9 again.
