What are some relatively easy keyboard songs to learn? I got one for Christmas and really want to learn to play it well so I can take my writing to a new level.
Thanks

PS: To give you an idea of styles that I like to play, I've already learned Capsizing the Sea by Trivium and Mockingbird by Eminem. I like metal and some classical stuff but good music is good music

go find a pile of sheet music and a music theory book, it'll do you so much more good than 4 chord crap

Hail isn't too edgy for posts, posts are not edgy enough for Hail.

I can write a coherent tune ... But 3/4? I play rock, not polka.

I'd recommend getting a book of sheet music targeted towards beginners, but I'm not much of a piano player. I mostly wanted to commend you on your proper use of "well" in the original post.
