So my bandmate just bought this Vypyr amp and when we started to play it started smelling funny then it shut off and we could not turn it back on. He just bought it and it has barely been used, and we weren't playing that loud (which shouldn't be a problem since it's 120 watt amp. We were thinking fuse, but we're not too sure. He has a one year Peavey warranty too. What do you think the problem is?

Sounds like the fuse popped, which points to other problems with it.

If you have the warranty, then just send it back and get a new one. It happens with all amps.

Peavey products are normally built like tanks, but it sounds like your buddy got a bad one. Don't even worry about whats wrong with it, if its covered send it back.

Playing an amp at max volume should never cause damage to the amp.

TS, your amps defective, just warranty it.

Yea we got a brand new one! The one we had before was a demo model that had been there for a couple years. Thanks!
