Budget? - $400.00 or under.

Genres? - I play alot of different styles. Jazz, Blues, Classic Rock, Shred Guitar, Metal, etc.

New or Used? New.

Home or Gig? - I want an amp for my room. Something that will fill my room and perhaps the hallway with music

Closest City? - Arizona, USA.

Current Gear? - Dean Dimebag Black Bolt, Fender Stratocaster, Fender Frontman 15G (I am wayyy overdue for an upgrade)
EDIT: Forgot to list my pedals: Dunlop Wah, T-Rex MAB Overdrive, T-Rex Tap Tone Delay.

I am looking for a new amp, as my current amp is starting to deteriorate, if you will. I was wondering if any of you know something that I don't. So far I am looking at one of those Jet City Half Stacks, which seems highly recommended on this site, but I haven't looked into it much yet. I am currently planning on upgrading this year (2012).

Looking foward to your recommendations, thanks.

Do you already have a cab?

Anyway, some kind of modeller then. Peavey Vypyr?

If only I were the only one at home right now. I don't need my parents asking who Mr. Wiggles is.

I've had tube amps for a while now, but never actually had any go down on me

maybe you're not saying the right things? an amp likes to know you care.

I didn't see too much on the Phoenix craigslist (for example) that will handle all of the stuff you play. I did see a Traynor YCV50B, a Tweaker, a JCM900, a Classic 30, Bugera V22, stuff like that. There was also a Peavey Transtube 212 maybe check that out. But for versatility on a budget I really like the Vypyr Tube 60. I got mine for $315 used at Guitar Center.

See if you can find a used Peavey JSX.

Other than that, Peavey Vypyr Tube.

A Jet City could work well for some of the sounds, but they don't exactly strike me as versatile.

I am leaning towards the Peavy Vypyr so far. I'll have to check out some guitar stores and try one out. Seems to be the best for versatility in my price range, that I could find. Thanks for the recommendations guys!

Agreed! For $100 more, you can find the JSX head for $500, all day long.

For home use, I'd rather have a good modelling combo over a 100W valve head.

Keep an eye out for a Line6 Flextone.

bandwagoning on here is getting terrible. vypyr tube is a good sounding amp, but not the answer to life, but would be good in your scenario.

off topic but now people are bandwagoning against the 6505 112.

jet city is another one.

on topic i would go for a egnater tweaker or rebel (20 or 30) combo. i had their big brother as such (renegade) and owned a tweaker. great amps. tweaker combo may be on the higher end of your budget, probably no more than $20 or so additional.

I don't want a head though. I only have my Fender combo, and it's dying out on me. So a better combo would be my best option for now.
