Hey the pit, I was thinking the other day that a dubstepp-ish remix of something like mute math's reset or you are mine would sound pretty cool. I realize dubstep isn't guitar heavy (and neither is mute math), but the idea sounded awesome, and hey we're musicians for the most part right, why limit ourselves?

In this thread post similar ideas, or comment and concern, or w/e

Looking forward to some original posts

also [sick] title, imo its spelled wrong to start with

I'm gonna do mathstep.

Dubstep with complex time signatures.

No one's going to love me.

I will >_>

Its a newish genre, I'm sure you could do something like mathstep. It's already more complex, time signature-wise, than a lot of the music out there

People really need to stop mashing up Dubstep and every other genre in existence.

I use to like dubstep, but people beat it to death and now it's just....meh.

You know somethings wrong when people make random noises with a computer to a beat are called "artists".

Distance is amazing.

Also, I've posted this way too many times, but The Algorithm comes close to combining dubstep and metal.

So many people seem to hate The Algorithm, but I think his shit is unbelievably fucking awesome

It was someone on UG (can't remember who) who introduced me to The Algorithm, loved his first release but his latest one is...oh man, mindblowing.

I've got this idea to do a dubstep version of "Babe I'm Gonna Leave You" by Led Zeppelin. I've got it all in my head, now I just need to learn Ableton. Wish me luck.

I would say La Dispute almost fits into that, because their singer's vocal style is so akin to spoken word and slam poetry, both of which are fairly closely related to rap and hip-hop. But they're more post-hardcore.

If they got Clams Casino to throw down some textures and beatz, shit would be so cash.
