I have a Gibson SG Standard and a Peavey Vypyr 75. I like to play everything from Wes Montgomery and Radiohead, to Tool and Rage Against the Machine. In otherwords, I need very versatile pickups. I really love the tone Adam Jones has, and I know his amps are very important, but it made me consider the Duncan JB. I would need help deciding on a neck if I bought that, and I do not like the Duncan Jazz Pickup. Any Suggestions for both Pickups would be greatly appreciated.

the JB is a very versitile pick up, maybe an alnico II in the neck

if you like it why not? I have the Epi G-400 with a JB in the bridge and the stock epi in the neck, it sounds fine together.

You could try a set of Duncan P-Rails if you want something VERY versatile as well.

But first go on and replace that amp.
No need for a pickup swap when playing through an entry level modelling amp.

I like the vypyr, and yeah i know its not so great quality wise. Would it make sense just to swap out the blue marvel? If i decide on a new amp i need it to be cheap. any ideas?
