Alright guys,

does anyone know where I can find some sort of right angle extension cables for my daisy chain? I've only had limited success from lots of searches. This is exactly what I want: http://www.americanmusical.com/Item--i-PDS-21RAA but it doesn't seem to be available any more, especially not to the UK.

I know a power brick would be more beneficial to me, but I'm not playing live and don't get any significant noise from my OneSpot. I just need to increase the reach of some of my cables (especially for mxr pedals/wah etc.) so I can build a ghetto board.

Cheers!

people use a bit more of a streamlined system now-a-days.

http://www.visualsound.net/index.php/products/1spot

it's more of an integrated system, it identifies what brands of pedals need what types of adapters more clearly.

i use a more expensive version, it has isolated outputs and other fancy things

both of those companies provide angled barrels (among MANY other options) to fit your needs. good luck just finding an extension like that, they are hard to find now (old parts surplus).

Thanks for that link. The right angle adaptors on the Visual Sound site don't seem to maintain the correct polarity/tip size though. I'm just looking for a couple of extra inches basically (aren't we all).

Maybe I'll just end up buying their 8 pedal daisy chain cable. It seems to have a little more length between adapters.

irnmadn88, I think that changes it to a 2.5mm tip sadly

yeah, voodoo lab is pretty killer about the cables. if you are really stumped they'll hook you up even if you don't use their power supply.

edit: there are various polarity adapters and the such for 1spot and voodoo labs, they are a bit off-the-radar though.

haha, I do enjoy a bit of soldering so I guess I might go down that route. I'm just not sure about finishing the cables, i.e. putting some sort of shrink wrap thing over the join? I guess a good old bit of electrical tape wouldn't hurt

Heat shrink tubing is how I used to do it... electrical tape is not as stable in such a small area.

That's a good point! I'm sorry to be so lazy as not to google, but what's the best method for heat shrinking the tubing?

Looks like my budget pedal board is go!

I have used:

The heat from a hot soldering iron held close. OK.

A hot hair dryer. Better.

A heat gun. Best.

Cheers my hair dryer can melt your face off, so I'll give that a go!
