My music tastes have completely changed this year, less rock and a lot more electronic/dancey type stuff. Probably not to a lot of peoples taste though Although that Ultra Fizz track is the happiest tune of all time.

My personal favourites from this year would have to be..

Alter bridge - Home
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NKcCYAmC_NA

The Blackout - The Devil Inside
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I4387st3Fi4

not really followed many releases this year, I guess I've inadvertantly listened to more than just this but I'm oblivious to most of the electronic music and dubstep and metal that people listen to on UG at the moment..

Also, 2011 was a great year for all the Birdies and Lana del Reys and whatnot. Perhaps it's a bit stupid how eager the music media is about finding the "next Amy Winehouse" or whatever

My favorite singer-songwriter moment however was snatched away by this chubby dutch kid covering a pretty much forgotten American artist called Jim Donley:

Would BTBAM's new EP count as one song? because, if so, I pick that.

Noooooo, not you too!

Hrm.... according to iTunes Frank Turner's England Keep My Bones album that I bought this week was from last year. Sweet.

Well.... from it I tend to get One Foot Before The Other in my head.

Also, because it only makes sense, Lady Gaga's Bloody Mary . It has a sense of dark, 80s electro, it's odd!

Rihanna's song is catchy as hell. I do not particularly like it but it will not leave me be!

I heavily dislike both of the Gallaghers though. I don't care how much I should represent my fellow Mancunians, I think they're poo

University converted me to him. One of my bosses at work there played him a lot, and my housemate is a pretty big fan so... win win really.

Also I quite like Hageshisa To, Kono Mune No Naka De Karamitsuita Shakunetsu No Yami from Dir En Grey's latest album... which I still don't have

I prefer her older, less raunchy stuff. Umbrella is still brilliant.
