Hi, I've been reading stuff about being a session guitarist and it looks really cool, I know it takes alot of hard work and stuff, my question is what cities are known for specific type of music? Like Im pretty sure Nashville is known for country. I've heard the other major places are NY, Philly, L.A., and atlanta, and I was wondering if anyone knew what those cities are known for. I'm from Ottawa so as far as i know the only big music place near me (in canada) is toronto. Thanks for your help
I hate when people compare John Frusciante to God. He's
good and all.............but he's no Frusciante.

Seattle = grudge AND indie. Huge indie/hipster population here. Unfortunately.
My God, it's full of stars!

London - Grime

Croydon - Dubstep

In that that's where they started. Obviously London is well known for having all kinds of music go on inside it. My old Physics teacher played in Camden all the time with his Balkan Folk band.

Quebec - Yé Yé, no? I know it was mainland France that started it, but I'm pretty sure Quebec popularised it at the very least?
Also, Liverpool - Merseyside sound and Bristol - Trip Hop

Gothenburg - Melodic Death Metal

Seattle also birthed Queensryche and Nevermore. They beat grunge.

I was joking anyway, I quite like the occasional "banging tune" I think the kids call them nowadays?
