Hey, I recently got a new 7 string for Christmas, an RGA7. I love it, but whenever I record with it into Amplitube, or Garageband I hear a thumping sound, it has a steady beat too.
My guitar has an EQ switch, could it be this? When the EQ is on the thumping is slower than when it is off, this is only when i'm recording though, when playing through an amp its is perfectly fine. When I use my other guitar (6 string tele) everything is fine, no thumping.
Any idea's how i'd get it to stop?
Btw im plugging my guitar into my Mac by using a 1/4" to 1/8" jack then a simple 1/8" to 1/8" lead into the computer.
All help is appreciated, thanks
P.s. Here is the guitar on the Ibanez website, incase you need it: http://www.ibanez.com/ElectricGuitars/model-RGA7

It's probably noise from the thing you're using to connect the guitar. Such cables are notoriously shite. I'd get a proper recording interface if I were you.

Really depends on how much you're willing to spend.

I've seen a lot of people on here suggest the Focusrite Saffire 6. Here's a link:

I use a Line 6 UX1 and it's been great, but it doesn't have phantom power and the mic preamps are lacking. You could also check out the Tascam US-600. It's around $200 like the Focusrite. I'm not really sure what your budget is, but here's some you could check out.

Find a few in your price range and do some research/ask questions here. Hope that helps.
