This is a copy of a news article about the theft of GG and The Erotic Cakes' gear that was stolen from their van in Rome, Italy on the afternoon of December 17th, 2011; I know this is being post a couple of weeks after the theft occurred, but I want to help the guys get their gear back.

"It has been reported that Guthrie Govan’s band have had their tour gear stolen after a show in Rome, Italy. The band is now appealing for your help in tracking it down.

The critically acclaimed guitarist posted on MySpace (20/12/11) that the gear was stolen from the band’s van in Rome on the afternoon of 17 December. Unfortunately, the Italian police were unable to do anything to help, so the guitarists only option was to turn to his legion of fans on the internet to help track down the lost gear.

There is a full list of stolen gear on Guthrie’s MySpace, some of which was rented gear that Guthrie and his band are now obliged to replace. Also stolen was the only copy of the group’s pro-shot footage of a recent show that was intended for a live DVD due for release in 2012.

If you see any of this equipment surface in gear shops around Europe, or on the internet, let Guthrie know via his MySpace, or report it to your local authority. Check out the list and keep your eyes peeled:

Someone's already posted this on here claiming to be a friend of GG's. Do you get something for raising awareness of this or what?

if anyone from the pit got any of these items, i really think it would be detrimental to your investigative efforts.
