Which would be better for my new Schaller Floyd? Is there really a big difference in sound? I know titanium is supposed to be like the best, but i'm not paying $100 plus for one. I already spent a good chunk of money on upgrading my Kramer Striker FR424. I installed Seymour Duncan pick ups SH1N, SSL5, SH5. And the Schaller wasn't cheap either. I also got new pots and 5 way switch. So this block should be the last upgrade for my guitar.

Titanium is hype, nothing more. Titanium's advantage over steel is its strength to weight ratio. It weighs less for the strength it has. Steel, though heavier, has greater strength than titanium. This is why the titanium Floyd itself is just a stupid concept. In the case of the block and the sustain you get out of it titanium is one of the worst choices available. Brass will give you a warm singing tone. Steel will give it a harder edge with more treble. Both will sustain well.
