Here are the one's I've seen so far:

Fender Mustang I $99

Orange Amps Crush CR12L $99

Fender Frontman $59

Various others around $50-$99 (Peavey, Behringer, Vox, Spider, ect.)

Solid states, I'm too poor to keep up with the high maintenance of a tube amp.

I'm making all these threads because I value more experienced guitarists opinions more than mine, I've played off and on for 7 years and I'm just starting to get my bearings on getting good gear.

So, any opinions are welcome!

Edit: Keep forgetting...

I play a lot of different styles, from Jazz to Metal, so something well rounded.

I have a Roland Micro-Cube, it sounds great for the price and it's got a good set of effects. It also has a great distortion on the rectifier setting that doesn't get noise at all even with the gain cranked (the lack of a mid knob is depressing though).

Not sure about prices in the states,
But the Peavey Vypyr 15 is £100 here in the UK, and that's an awesome amp

You know unless they break tube amps wont cost you anything extra apart from retubing them every few years or so.

TS' budget is >100

While I don't care for it, the Vypyr 15 is 100usd.

If you saved a bit more and went used you could get the Vypyr 30 which is better.

I'll try the Vypyr vs. the Fender when I'm up at Guitar Center.

Any other suggestions?

The only good amp you're getting for $100 is a Kustom Defender 5W, but it's only a head.

Lol, that will do metal just fine.

If a tube amp "breaks", all you have to do is replace the tubes. If a solid state amp breaks, you have to replace the entire amp. Guess which one is cheaper.
