Hey, I'm buying a marshall jcm 900 head off a classified site, but i recently found out he has no cabinet to try the amp out with, is there any way i can test the amp without a cab? Thanks

Have him meet you at a music store perhaps?

Do NOT run a tube amp without a speaker load attached.

Well, you could say you are shopping for a cab for this head that you are about to purchase... which is true, you are going to need one, right?

Just make sure you have a speaker lead and the ohms match.

Or you could tell him that buying a head without hearing it is retarded and you want him to come with you to a store to put it on a cab. Tell the store that you're looking to buy a cab too.
