Alright so I ripped about 90 CDS onto my laptop recently, and in some of the songs they have a "skip" in them. Such as when you are listening to a CD that is scratched and it skips.

These are audible in the mp3 format of it. The thing is, I would understand why they did this if I burned it from a scratched CD. But all the songs I ripped from the CDS are brand new. As in I literally opened the package and CD case and ripped them onto my laptop.

Why do they do that, and what can I do to fix it?

No, it was motionless. But it only happens in a few songs, so I may have shifted it. Would that be the possible cause?

Could be, I guess.

Buy CDs>Rip to computer>Sync to iPod.

How would getting an iPod help? He'd still need to rip them.

I've had this problem, too. Sometimes, if you're running programs in the background while ripping it can screw up the encoding process, resulting in those type of skips. I'd just re-rip those individual tracks and make sure your ripping program is the only thing running.

This has happened to me when I ripped my entire CD collection. It happens on the first track of the CD.

While I couldn't always get rid of the problem, there are a few things you can try:
1) Turn off all the stuff that's running in the background
2) Rip the skipping song again, maybe using a different program like Mediamonkey
3) Some, but not all, skips can be fixed in Audacity
