There should be a little screw on the knob.

Unscrew it a little.

Turn it up as far as required.

I don't remember my Spider having any screwy knobs. Are you...screwin' with us?

I had the Spider IV. I got rid of it. The only time I got the Metal and Insane channel to sound half-decent was when my strings were less than a week old.

You need a new amp.

It's really small. Just look. They put it on there to prevent the gain overloading.

I guess fire extinguishers have to be filled with something other than fire retardant now, because apparently that's offensive.

Okay here. Turn your gain down to about 70%, turn your Mids down to 30%, then turn the Treble and Bass to 80%.

Try that.
Hey look, a stoner/doom album.

My treble and bass are maxd and I don't want to turn up the mids cuz I play metal
I tried the metal channel but its not as good as the insane
#18
The hell is this? Metallica doesn't even use alot of drive to begin with, and your complaining that you don't have enough distortion for it when your amp has a shitload of unnecessary distortion as it is?

You sir, are beyond out of your mind.

You're not even trolling well.

It sounds like your ear for tone just hasn't developed yet. Metallica don't use as much gain as you might think. What I think (I talk from experience I still own my Fender Frontman) is you are starting to hear the limitations of your spider and are ready to upgrade.

What should I upgarde to? The only thing I can afford right now is a boss metal zone do you think that would make the amp sound better?
